as we supply NASA and few auto dealers, RV dealers , (they use different version tracker , non-chargeable battery )
here is some information you may need to know based on the fact and our experience.

1)you can talk to your insurance company, you have anti-theft device installed , they may reduce your insurance fee , but it is all depend on the insurance company

2)just like low jack, all anti-theft devices are just a simple mobile phone , so it act like phone , it uses the cellular network to transmit the data to our platform and locate the location, if the vehicle is at the remote area such as desert , in which area, without any network signal , then you can not located it forever.

3)if the device is destroyed or found/removed by the theft ( it is very common based on our experience, our customer located the tracker but it is at the roadside), then you can not do the recovery.

4)in the contract you may need to mention it is equipped the anti-theft device . you dont need to let your customer know , it is their responsibility to read the contract , we did have such experience according to the privacy information protection, after all, the tracker does upload a few pieces of location to the platform when they drive

5)most of rental companies now will put multiple or even a few of tracker inside the cars if you think it is the high risk . our customer in los angeles recovered so many times for their box trucks by calling the 911 . multiple trackers installed will have the most reliability , in case the one tracker stopped working for any reason , the other tracker can still provide the location.

6)the lastly, regarding the tracking mode and installation, many car use the car battery to provide the energy , so you can setup the tracking mode to real time, eg, every 20 seconds, the tracker will upload the location once, we have made a project for outdoor coke dispense refrigerator, they just connect the tracker to the power directly, but figured out without the standard battery in tracker (they may make very small thou), they just lost the connection.
we suggest use the every 12 hours upload the location, (the RV and the car dealer sells the service to their customers for 3 years for fixed one time charge, and installed for them and fixed every 24 hours location uploaded once , more uploading frequency will cause the less standby time for the tracker , but have more successful recovery possibility. the tracker will goto the deep sleep and only check the cellular network (att, our tracker is att certified ) for once , approx 1 minute , no matter successful or not , it will goto the deep sleep again unless they found(by checking the pending tracking mode change, such as , change to realtime 20 second tracking mode command). so, for example, if the car is stolen, you need to immediately change the tracking mode to realtime (this mode is by default, and need to setup to the antitheft mode by every 12 or 24 hours tracking mode by app when installing ), and when the tracker awake next time, it will try to check if there is celluar network, and if there is , then check the pending mode change commands, and change to that tracking mode, if there is no celluar network, it will try it again next time, which may be the next 24 hours or 12 hours. for our GT100V (small), it should standby over one year (every 24 hours locatoin uploaded , the standby time is totally depended on the cellular tower distance , it will more enegy if the tower distance is longer).
